Khao Galli of Secunderabad: PG Road, Sindhi Colony

Meeting Foodie friends outside your city and going on a food walk is a real happiness of a kind! Based on various recommendations received by foodies of Hyderabad, we decided to pin our location to Sindhi Colony in Secunderabad. It is known as Paradise for Vegetarians as it houses various cuisine food carts and shops. As our start of walk was already delayed by an hour due to traffic jams, we din’t wanna spend more time at the same outlets.

Our Walk started at Pizza Den, pit stopped at Chachaji Wadapav, Ohri’s Coca-Cola Happiness World, Reason 9 Idli Dosa, Dimmy’s and ended at Havmor Hotch Potch.

Pizza Den: Veg Pizza has a Den and it is none other than Pizza Den. Amazing thick crust pan pizzas with local and continental flavours. Bread is soft on the top and crunchy on the bottom. Our pick for the evening was Hot n Spicy Mexican. Totally loved it. It had the right amount of spiciness and cheesy topping. Would definitely visit them back for pizza and the softy ice creams.

Chachaji Wadapav: This is in fact one of the best Wadapav and Dhabeli carts. The Pav was to die for. We were lucky enough to get the items as they were about to shut. Very friendly and ever smiling chachaji and chachiji. The Dhabeli and Wadapav are made authentic way but little customized for Hyderabadi tastebuds and the customization is good. And if anyone is looking for buying very good pavs, visit them and give order one day prior, they will definitely prepare it for you.

Ohri’s Coca-Cola Happiness World: Our visit was based on recommendations for their Frozen Coke. Must say it was a great drink. I do not like too much of soda, and this being a frozen crush, was mildly carbonated. Wish such drinks were available in Bengaluru. They have good ambiance and wide menu options.

Reason 9: Idli and Dosa Bandi was our pick at this place and Butter Fried Idli, Ghee Kharram Dosa were the menu for the time. This place is not for Faint Hearted or diet conscious. The amount of Ghee and Butter used is too high. Idlis were crispy and soft. Dosa was paper thin with loads of Ghee and Podi. Great taste, but I would like the Dosa to be less crispier. They have interesting Idli and Dosa options.

Dimmy’s: This chain is known for its widest range of Pan. Starting from meeta pan, till Mango roll, chocolate pan, they have unique variants. Being on a food walk, we could not go for pan in the middle and decided to have Cheese Pav Bhaji. It looked great, but pav was soft because it was little smeared with bhaji, the overall taste had salt on the higher note making it less palatable. Guess we should have stuck to regular pav bhaji or to what they are best known for. Will give them a try before coming to a conclusion.

Havmor Hotch Potch: We came to this place by chance and we were glad to have visited this. Ordered Kulfi Takatak. Rich dessert made of Malai Kulfi, saffron Raj Bhog ice cream and topped with loads of Almonds and Kesar sauce and served on a waffle bowl. It’s not a dessert that can be finished by one person.
